Grain mill - experimental archaeology

The grain mill was reconstructed based on Roman finds. It was operated with slaves or draft animals.

Grain for bread and porridge was ground fresh. The most simple meal consisted of grain porridge: "puls". Ground and roasted grains, preferably emmer (a kind of wheat), were boiled with milk.
