Production and maintenance of weapons

The weapons required constant maintenance. Cast-iron forms for spear tips and arrowheads were found. This shows that these elements were produced locally. With the repairs to and replacement of 500 soldiers' armour the "fabrica" was kept constantly busy.

Fittings were poured or beaten with a technique used to hammer metal sheets into form.
