A deep plate, a jug for drinks, a mortar and pot lids were found in
the rubble of Fort Miltenberg-Bürgstadt.
Ingredients and spices were grated into fine powder in the mortar and mixed with fluids. In the mortars "moretum" of a kind of cream cheese, garlic, olive oil, and herbs was also prepared.
Cooking pots were kept at the edge of the fire so that the food could be slowly cooked.
Wine diluted with water - and certainly also pure water - were the standard drinks.
