Parade boss

The bronze disc is decorated with a bust of the goddess Minerva wearing a Corinthian helmet. The owner marked this unusual object with his name, at the edge there is graffiti: "CRISPINI MAXIMI ...STIS".
The original is in the Copenhagen National Museum.

The function of the disc is controversial: Was the disc the boss of a parade armour, or the chest decoration of a harness?

Location
It is not clear where the silver-plated disc was made. The found became known at the end of the 19th century. The original was placed in the antiquities collection of the Copenhagen National Museum (Inv. No. 4758).
